Editorial Standards
At Let’s Get FIREd, our goal is to help working Indians reach financial independence with information they can actually trust. This page explains who we are, how we research and write, and the standards we hold ourselves to.
Who we are
Let’s Get FIREd is an independent, India-first publication about Financial Independence and Retiring Early (FIRE). We publish under a team byline rather than individual names because our focus is the accuracy and usefulness of the information, not personal branding. Our content is written and reviewed by people with hands-on experience pursuing FIRE in India — building investment portfolios, planning taxes, and tracking real numbers on Indian salaries.
How we research
Every guide is built for Indian conditions — our markets, our inflation, and our tax laws — not lifted from US sources. Where we quote rules, rates, limits, or data, we rely on primary and reputable sources, including the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the Income Tax Department of India, AMFI, and established Indian personal-finance publications. Our calculators use standard, transparent formulas — for example, corpus and safe-withdrawal-rate maths — with the India-specific assumptions stated on each tool so you can see exactly how the numbers are produced.
Accuracy and updates
Tax rules, interest rates, and investment limits change often in India. We date our content and revise key guides when the underlying rules change — for example, around the Union Budget or when tax provisions are amended. We aim to be precise with numbers and to flag assumptions clearly. If you spot anything out of date or incorrect, please tell us (see Corrections below).
This is not financial advice
Before acting on anything you read here, please do your own research and consider consulting a SEBI-registered investment adviser or a qualified tax professional.
Independence
We write to be useful, not to sell. We do not take payment to feature or recommend any product, fund, or platform. If we ever use affiliate links, we will disclose them clearly, and they will never change what we recommend or how we rank options.
Corrections and contact
We take accuracy seriously. If you find an error, have a question, or want to suggest a topic, please get in touch. We review every report and fix confirmed errors promptly.
